Since the start of the pandemic, we have assisted over 3,100 people with COVID rent relief, providing more than $7.5 million directly to local landlords. This is equal to the total population Harrisburg or Toledo.

Since the Oregon Emergency Rental Assistance Program launched in May, CSC has served an additional 1,228 people and processed over $3 million more in rental assistance for those still struggling to avoid eviction in Linn, Benton, and Lincoln Counties.

In total, we have provided over $10.5 million in COVID-related rental supports with more every day!

Currently, over 900 impacted individuals remain unhoused statewide, primarily living in temporary shelters such as motels and trailers. As we mark the one year anniversary of the 2020 wildfires, CSC has been working diligently to meet the needs of those affected in Santiam Canyon, Linn and Lincoln Counties with emergency and wrap-around services.

OUR IMPACT:
  • Partnered with Camp Taloali (Santiam Canyon) to provide shelter for displaced families
  • On-site staff assisted camp residents with replacing lost documents, finding work, technology, transportation and more
  • Provided storage sheds on displaced families' properties during rebuilding
  • Created work opportunities for youth and young adults to rehabilitate public land
  • Temporarily employed wildfire survivors and built community partnerships to find employment opportunities, on-the-job training, and more
  • Participant in long term relief committees in Santiam Canyon, Linn and Lincoln Counties to address funding gaps and collaborate on solutions
  • Supporting rebuilding and construction efforts in Linn and Lincoln Counties with new $4 million grant from Oregon Housing and Community Services

PARTNERSHIPS AT WORK
We've partnered with Linn-Benton Housing Authority to provide nutrition and education services to their senior community members, in addition to high-quality monthly food boxes through our Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP).

Recently, we headed a new initiative at their Lebanon Garden View apartments for low-income seniors that was designed to support a socially active lifestyle for the residents. The gardens (pictured above) are used by our Food Share staff and enrolled youth students to offer regular gardening classes and trainings to the senior residents.

This effort illustrates that community partnerships work, providing affordable housing, good nutrition, and community engagement under one roof!

COMMUNITY SUPPORT
Over the summer, Food Share received $2,200 in donations from generous local community members! The donated proceeds came from sales of their locally-sourced, homemade jam and fudge from a small stand at their home. We thank them and the many other community members whose support makes our work possible and more impactful.

This donation alone can help us provide over 13,000 meals to our community!
